Create to Play session

On 28 April 2018, we had our first training session for existing volunteers, due in large part to a grant we received from the Flora and Frank Leith Charitable Trust. We were able to deliver a Create to Play Therapy session to 14 existing MBVS hands-on help volunteers, who are part of the Eastern Volunteer Bank.

The session was run by Doliza Reyes-Bibbs, a social worker and play therapy expert, and involved the volunteers making educational toys that they were able to take home. The volunteers learnt about the importance of using toys to enhance the development of babies and young children. They will be able to use these skills when volunteering with families with multiple birth children.

Our founder, Lynne Dunoon, said “This session was an MBVS highlight for me. Those present had a great time creating baby play items and taking them home and it was a magnificent bonding time for volunteers”.
