How we can help
Hands on help in your home
We provide in home support for multiple birth families using a team of competent and caring volunteers. We focus on families with babies and toddlers and those in particularly difficult circumstances. This is a no cost service that operates across Metropolitan Melbourne.
Our volunteers help to make life easier for parents by assisting them with the myriad of tasks involved in caring for children and keeping the household running. We understand that every family is unique and tailor our support around their particular needs and wishes.
Parents can feel confident that their children are in safe hands with our volunteers. Our volunteers attend one of our induction workshops, are required to hold a current Working with Children Check card, and have up-to-date vaccinations for measles and whooping cough. Our volunteers are also covered by MBVS accident and public liability insurance.
While families are involved with our service, we keep in touch with them and provide ongoing support for their volunteers. We understand that having someone in your home can be intrusive, so we make sure that our volunteers are respectful and mindful of a family’s privacy.
If you have or are expecting multiples and would like more information about how we could help your family, please email info@mbvs.org.au.
